Xianglin Liu is a composer of many styles. A self-taught composer who began creating her works at the young age of seven and started playing her first instrument, the piano, at age four, she avidly devotes herself to music. 

Her composing can range from a mix of contemporary and classical chamber music to uniquely structured piano solo pieces with unusual harmonies. Her study of music theory has aided her in her composing and has refined it well.

Xianglin Liu's debut album was Warmth, which later turned into a series of multiple albums. They all consisted of piano solos self-performed and recorded. She loves the French Horn, Mallet Percussion, and Cello the most. It is evident in her chamber music pieces that she greatly values the brass, usually giving them her most treasured melody.
